Gail Lenters - Shades of Hope Founder

Gail is a wildlife custodian and holds the provincial and federal permits for Shades of Hope.

With 30 years of business management experience, she takes care of the structure & direction of the charity. Her passion for conservation and animal care led her into wildlife rehabilitation and continues to drive us forward to meet the increasing demands for our services.

Cathy Stockman

Director of Operations

Cathy brings 25 years of hands on animal experience to her position at Shades of Hope. It is her considerable knowledge in exotic animal medical care and husbandry that has helped us to grow so very quickly and professionally meet the growing demand for emergency wildlife care in South Central Ontario.

Cathy has been a leader on the SOH Team since inception and continues to direct the day to day operations.

June Green

June’s career in accounting spans 40 years and has included such notable positions as Ellis Don Construction accountant responsible for the Sky Dome Project. June is currently the Controller for 3 Corporations, managing the financial requirements of various divisions.

Her fiscal experience along with her passion for wildlife has provided solid guidance and support to SOH since Day 1. June is also the face behind the camera for many of our photographs!

Dr. Sherri Cox, MBA, DVM

Lead Veterinarian
Gail Lenters - Shades of Hope Founder

Dr. Sherri Cox is a graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) and is currently the Executive Director, Global Development, Innovation and Research at the University of Guelph. She is an instructor at the National Wildlife Rehabilitators Association conferences, has given talks at the OVC and trained many student veterinarians and veterinary technicians in wildlife medicine.

Dr. Cox is the founder of the National Wildlife Centre and is committed to helping educate on wildlife conservation, medicine, and emergency preparedness and response. As leader of the SOH Critical Med Team, Dr Cox brings to the table a wealth of medical knowledge, ability and talent.
